Fulya “Yaya” Yumak is Turkish actor, Model and UGC content creator. She was born in Basel, Switzerland on June 16th 1992 to her Turkish parents and grew up in Switzerland.
At a very young age she would perform in front of her parents, would attend dance and entertainment shows and even won a Belly Dance Competition Show when she was 13. Yaya also played soccer off and on from the time she was 10, all the way through college, and eventually played for FC Schlieren, winning a championship with her team. Yaya retired from professional soccer at the age of 23, and turned to the other love she had cultivated during college – theater.
Yaya had many lead roles throughout high school and college, and when she manifested her dreams and moved to the U.S. in 2019, she began taking acting classes in Miami. She quickly landed her first role in 2020, as “Candy” in the feature film “OPPS” and was also offered to be head of the Wardrobe Department, which she accepted. She’s studied acting under prominent coaches such as Jim Gleason and Ralph Kinnard. Yaya currently studies under Matthew Corrozine, a Broadway, Television & Film Acting Coach who is known for transformative “Get Outta Your Head” Meisner Technique Classes.
Yaya has appeared in several feature films, theater productions, comedy sketches, music videos and podcasts. She auditioned for “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3”, was invited for the show “The Circle” on Netflix but turned it down to co-star on “Deadly Ruphoria” with Robin Givens.
In November 2023, Yaya’s outstanding performance and show of extreme emotional range on set of “Wolves At The Gate” inspired writer/director Lyssa Angélique to rewrite Domino Effect with a Turkish female lead, and Yaya nabbed her first lead role in a future film.
